WHO IS TO BELL THE CAT?
There was an old house in a village. There live a number of mice in that house. They were doing a lot of mischiefs there. The master was annoyed and made a plan to get rid of them. He bought a cat to kill the mice. The cat always hankered after them. It always tried to catch the mice. It made their lives troublesome. The mice always remained in fear and dread. Their lives came to a halt. The mice were in great difficulty. They could not move freely as before. They all became tensed about what to do then. They started brooding over this situation. Finally, they held a meeting to find out a way to be free from this danger. There were several proposals but none was good and approved. There was created great chaos in the meeting. At last, a young mouse rose to speak. All the mice turned to him. He said, ”Let’s tie a bell around the cat’s neck. If we can do so we can find out it easily and can escape from the place hearing the sound of the bell.” All the mice thanked the young muse for his plan. Then an old mouse said, “It’s good but who will tie the bell?” Hearing this, all the mice kept silent because no one was ready to bell the cat.
