THE PROUD CROW

Once upon a time, there was a crow who felt sad about his plain black feathers. He always wished he could look more beautiful like other birds, especially peacocks. Every day, he dreamed of finding a way to change his appearance, wanting to be as colourful and dazzling as them.

One day, while wandering through the jungle, he stumbled upon a bunch of peacock feathers lying around. Excitedly, he picked them up and stuck them onto his feathers. With each feather, he added, his excitement grew. When he looked at himself, he couldn’t believe the transformation; he now looked just like a splendid peacock.

Feeling confident and thrilled, the crow decided he didn’t want to hang out with his crow friends anymore. He thought he was just as good as the graceful peacocks, so he wanted to join their group. But despite his new look, he still acted the same way as before, and he struggled to fit in with the peacocks.

It didn’t take long for the truth to come out. The peacocks figured out he was just a crow pretending to be one of them. They took away his borrowed feathers and kicked him out, leaving him feeling regretful for trying to trick them. Rejected by both the peacocks and his old crow buddies, the crow realized he had made a big mistake.

In the end, he learned an important lesson about being happy with who you are. He decided to embrace his identity as a crow, understanding that true beauty isn’t just about how you look, but also about being true to yourself and having a good heart.
