DEFORESTATION

No doubt, trees are the heart of nature. In maintaining ecological balance, the contribution of trees is beyond description. Trees produce oxygen and consume carbon dioxide. Without oxygen, no living thing can live on this earth. It is quite impossible to survive without oxygen. It also gives shade and makes the environment calm and cool. Trees are extremely necessary for our existence. It also saves us from natural calamities. According to ecologists, for a livable environment, there should be 25% of the total land area In Bangladesh, there is 16% forest on the total land. To meet the basic needs of food and housing, we are cutting down trees to a large extent. Cutting trees randomly is a crime, but we do not think or feel so. Different areas of the world are becoming deserts as an effect of deforestation. In the absence of trees, carbon dioxide is increasing worldwide. This is why we are going to face the greenhouse effect. Global warming is the most imminent and dangerous threat for the next generation. Our government should be strict about this heinous work of “deforestation”. We, along with the government, should make people aware of the tree plantations, and we have to show them clearly the negative effects of deforestation. Let’s make a pledge to plant trees to a large extent.
