There are three categories of village markets. They are temporary shops, permanent shops, and open space shops.

In the open space, shops of the same kind take seats. Here, milk, fruits, betel, vegetables, and fish are sold in the open space shop.

In the temporary shops, the grocers take their seats. They usually sell oil, salt, cloves, paper, pens, ink, etc. in this shop, and the buyers can easily move from one side to the other.

The permanent shops consist of different kinds of big shops and stalls. Here the shopkeepers sell rice, wheat, flour, clothes, etc. This part of the market is usually less crowded because it does not sell the daily necessities.

A village market is of great use and importance to the villagers. Here, they get almost all the necessary things for their daily use. A village market also has social value. It brings different kinds of people to a limited place and creates unity among the villagers. It is an important place for village politics and a great place for entertainment. Some people come to a village market only to pass their boring time through entertainment.

A village market has some problems as well. A village market is not free from corruption like the other markets in cities. The sellers demand an illegal price for their products without any necessary reason. Another is that the village market is not actually a clean place. It is a totally unhealthy and unhygienic place. There is a government sweeper to take away the rubbish and filth from the village market. It makes the environment unhealthy.

After all, a village market serves as a great service to the people of a village. It saves time and money from going to faraway places to buy necessary daily goods. It is the meeting place of the villagers, and they get news and views from here.
